Expert Tip for the Perfect Cookies:

  • The cookies expand while baking, so it’s important to leave space between the cookie dough balls when arranging them on the pan.
  • When baking the cookies, take them out of the oven after 8 or 9 minutes, even if they look under done. The cookies will finish baking in the residual heat and won’t overbake.
  • Resist the urge to dig into the cookies right away! Let them cool for a couple of minutes out of the oven before serving.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS-

How to store chocolate chip cookies?

Store the chocolate chip cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. If you want to keep the cookie’s softness, add a slice of white bread into the container; the beard will keep the cookies from drying out.

Can I eat this cookie dough?

No, you do not want to eat this cookie dough raw.

Why are my cookies hard after baking?

You overbaked the cookies! All ovens are different, and the bake time will vary slightly. So, bake just until golden and remove.

Why are my cookies flat?

If your cookies come out flat, you may have under-measured the flour. If the cookies are too thick, then you added too much flour.

Can I prepare cookie dough batter ahead of time?

Yes, this cookie batter is better when the cookie dough rests for at least 30 minutes or up to 3 days. If you are chilling for longer than 2 hours, you want to allow the dough to sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before shaping.
