Happy 15th Birthday, Benjamin. Our firstborn son, the child that made me a mamma and my husband a dad for the first time. (His birthday is Nov. 8th.) I cannot believe we have a fifteen-year-old, that makes me feel REALLY old.

Benjamin’s life-

Sharing a small collage of his life. What a handsome young man he is becoming!.

My biggest desire as a mom is that he remains pure and holy. That he leads a life in the fear of God. There’s no better joy for a parent than to see their children walking in the Word.

{He finally was able to get a phone this year, I know we are a little old fashion but that’s okay. He got braces put on and started playing the guitar – he is actually very talented and I’m pretty excited to see him learn (I’ll share a clip of us singing as a family in our church in our Newsletter, subscribe above if you aren’t receiving those).}

Surprise Birthday Party!

Enjoy some pictures from his Surprise Birthday Party!

We don’t have big birthday parties every year so it was really nice to throw a party for him! I am an interior designer and decorating makes me SOO SOO happy! I had too much fun decorating. It was really hard to decorate for a 15-year-old boy so this is the best I could come up with. 😉

For the table, I just used cotton balls stems, twigs, and balls. I made two wreaths and added some cotton balls to the wreath and my hubby hung it up as decor. It doesn’t look that cute in the picture, but it was really cute! These are the lights we used, I have both a white and black set. These are the invitations I used.

(P.S. Notice anything out of place in the above picture? My dad decided to add his element of decor, lol, lol. I was going to use a different picture without it, but thought this was too cute not to share.)

Bens party table decorFOOD AT THE PARTY-

Being in the 3rd trimester, preparing food was a bit of a challenge. I didn’t go overboard as my health just won’t allow it. Here’s the food we did serve at the party. Ben is more of a baker so he baked most of the dessert and Joseph likes making salads, so he cut everything up for salads. Makes it so much easier for me. (Ben thought the party was for my dad, haha.)

Shrimp Dip,   Carrot Salad,  Broccoli Cauliflower Salad,  Bacon Cauliflower Salad

Beef (will be posting soon, was a hit), Creamy Chicken Casserole (we make it for every party), Mashed Potatoes,

Raspberry Cheesecake Bars,  Chocolate Oreo Pudding Delight (just made them in individual cups),  Poppy Seed Roulade and Rogaliki.

QUESTION: Those of you that have teenagers, I’ll take any advice and tips for dealing with teenagers. Maybe there’s something you tried and was a blessing to your family?

I hope you enjoyed this personal post! It’s been a while. 🙂
