SMORES DIP-

This dip is so easy to make! The melted chocolate combined with the gooey marshmallows gives you the ultimate smores taste. Skip all the work of getting the fire started to make smores and just make this dip.

INGREDIENTS-

With just 3 simple ingredients you can have this easy smores dip recipe ready to go into the oven!

  • Butter– You can used either unsalted or salted melted butter for this recipe.
  • Chocolate– We used Hershey Bars with a mixture of chocolate chips. You can use milk chocolate chips, mini morsels, chocolate chunks, chocolate bars, and evening melting cubes.
  • Marshmallows– The marshmallows is the key to this dessert dip. You want to use either regular fluffy marshmallows or jumbo marshmallows. If using jumbo ones, cut them in half before spreading them over the chocolate.

HOW TO MAKE SMORES DIP-

Get the oven preheated and have this smores dip ready to serve in 15 minutes!

  1. Preheat the oven.
  2. In a cast iron skillet, brush the melted butter all over dish. Add in the chocolate bars or chocolate chips.
  3. Top the chocolate with marshmallows, laying vertically filling the entire skillet with marshmallows.
  4. Bake the dip until the tops of the marshmallows are crispy and golden brown and the chocolate has melted.
  5. Serve warm and enjoy!

SLOW COOKER METHOD-

This smores dip is AMAZING in the slow cooker!

  1. Butter the entire inside of the slow cooker with melted butter or cooking spray.
  2. Add the chocolate to the slow cooker and top with the marshmallows.
  3. Cook the dip on low for about 2 hours, or until the chocolate and marshmallows have melted. Keep on warm and serve.

Make sure you keep an eye on the dip as it is cooking, you do not want the chocolate to burn. All slow cookers are different so keep an eye on the dip about an hour before it’s done cooking so the chocolate doesn’t burn.

What if I don’t have a cast iron?

For the best results we like using a 10-inch cast iron skillet. But you can also use a pie dish or 9×13 baking dish. If you use a larger dish, your ingredients might need to be adjusted to cover the entire dish.
 
Bake time may slightly vary depending on the size of the dish you use.

Can I make this in the microwave?

Yes! Add the butter and chocolate into a bowl and melt chocolate in the microwave at 30 second intervals. Once the chocolate is almost melted remove from microwave top with marshmallows and microwave for another 10-12 seconds, or until melted. Keep an eye on the dish to avoid burning.

How to reheat the dip?

To reheat the dip, add it back into the oven at 350°F for about 4-6 minutes until reheated. We highly recommend enjoying the dip fresh for best results.

Can I use mini marshmallows?

Yes, you can use mini marshmallows for this dip. You will just need to use more to cover the entire dish with marshmallows

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • In a cast iron skillet, brush the melted butter all over dish. Add in the chocolate chips.
  • Top the chocolate with marshmallows, laying vertically filling the entire skillet with marshmallows.
