Cheesy Asparagust Gratin Recipe
This baked asparagus recipe is the perfect side dish to compliment your main course dinner. It takes little time to prepare and can bake, hands-off, while you cook your other dishes!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh asparagus
  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil or Canola oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter cubed
  • 1 Tbsp Parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tsp plain breadcrumbs

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • Align the ends of the asparagus and trim the ends. Lay the asparagus out in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle the asparagus with oil and lightly season it with salt and pepper. Toss the asparagus to evenly coat with the seasonings.
  • Top the asparagus with the mozzarella cheese. Top the cheese with cubes of butter and sprinkle the shredded parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs over the asparagus.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the asparagus is tender (this may take longer, depending on the size of asparagus and desired tenderness).
  • Serve immediately and enjoy, friends!

Notes

Leave off the cheese: To cut some calories or make the side dish dairy free, leave off the cheese and bake with a touch of lemon seasoning.
Serve: Serve the asparagus with mashed potatoes, chicken, or your favorite beef recipes.
