Creamy Layered Jello

Ingredients

Creamy Layer-

  • 2 cups water
  • 6 oz strawberry gelatin (Jell-O brand)
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 8 oz cool whip
  • 16 oz fresh strawberries, sliced

Jello Layer-

  • 4 cups water
  • 6 oz gelatin

Instructions

Creamy Layer-

  • In a saucepan, bring two cups of water to a boil. Add in 6 oz of gelatin and mix until well combined. Removed from heat and set aside to cool completely.
  • Mix together with a mixer the sour cream and cool whip until combined. Add in the cooled strawberry jello and combine.
  • Add the creamy mixture to a 9x13 glass dish. Refrigerate to set for about 15-30 minutes.

Jello Layer-

  • In the meantime, bring 2 cups water to boil, add gelatin and mix. Remove from heat and add 2 cups cold water. Set aside to completely cool.
  • Once the cream layer has thickened, add the sliced or chopped strawberries and then slowly pour the cooled jello over the creamy layer and fruit.
  • Place back into the refrigerator and allow the jello cake to set and become firm.
  • Slice and serve.

Notes

  • You can use a variety of jello flavors to customize this cake. 
  • This cake can be made the night before and refrigerated overnight. 
  • Refrigerate leftovers and enjoy for the next 3-5 days.
