The BEST Homemade Hummus Recipe

This hummus recipe tastes so much better homemade and a great copy of the store-bought dips. This recipe is so easy to make and creates a creamy and flavorful dip to enjoy with pitas or vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked chickpeas (from 2 cans)
  • cup lemon juice about 2 lemons
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 1/2 tsp kosher salt or to taste
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • ¾ tsp ground cumin
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin oil

Instructions

  • Into a blender, add all of the ingredients.
  • Blend until the mixture is a smooth consistency.
  • Add more water for a thinner consistency.
  • Garnish as desired and enjoy.

Notes

Garnish: The dip may be garnished with olive oil, paprika, red pepper flakes (for heat), fresh herbs and even chickpeas.
Storage: The dip may be stored in an airtight container up for five days in the fridge.
Serve: Serve with pitas, pita chips or vegetales!
