Breakfast Casserole Recipe

Easiest breakfast casserole recipe with a 10-minute prep time! Crescent crust with a fresh homemade sausage and gravy and topped with eggs and cheese.

  • 8 oz crescent rolls

sausage gravy-

  • 16 oz italian sausage
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • tsp ground black pepper

egg mixture-

  • 7 large eggs
  • 1 Tbsp whole milk
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • dash pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese


  • In a large skillet, sauté the sausage until fully cooked, breaking into little pieces as you cook the sausage.
  • Add butter. Once melted add in the flour and stir until well incorporated. Add the milk, stir. 
  • Turn heat down and allow to continue cooking until the gravy thickens. Remove from heat.
  • Lay out the crescents into a 9x13 casserole dish. Pour the sausage gravy over the crescent layer.
  • Whisk together eggs and 1 Tbsp milk with salt and pepper. Pour over the sausage gravy layer.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the egg mixture. Cover with foil.
  • Bake at 425* for 25 minutes, remove foil and bake another 5 minutes.
