BBQ Crockpot Roast

Easy BBQ Slow Cooker Roast Recipe.  Fall-apart tender beef with homemade tangy BBQ sauce. With 10-minute prep time, this is the perfect family dinner for busy evenings.

  • 3 lbs chuck roast (beef), 2" cubes
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 6 garlic cloves, sliced
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, sliced
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp ground paprika


  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (Sweet Baby Ray's)
  • 1/4 cup A1 steak sauce, or favorite steak sauce
  • 2 Tbsp hot sauce, any brand


  • Cut meat into 1 ½” – 2” pieces. 
  • Slice garlic and onion. Slice butter
  • Add meat in slow cooker. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Add onions and garlic, butter and bay leaves to slow cooker. 
  • Cook on low 6-8 hours, or on high 4-5 hours (until meat is tender).
  • Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by combining all of the ingredients.
  • Remove meat from slow cooker and add to a baking dish. Generously coat with sauce.
  • Broil at 450°F until meat is crispy. 
  • Enkoy!


When transferring meat to a baking dish, discard of the remaining ingredients in the slow cooker.
