Chocolate Chip Scones
The BEST homemade buttery and flakey scones loaded with mini chocolate chip morsels. An easy dessert recipe that's great for any occasion.
Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a 9x13 baking sheet with parchment paper.
Cube 7 Tbsp butter and freeze until needed. Set aside 1 Tbsp butter for the topping.
In a bowl, add the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and heavy whipping cream, whisk until combined. Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl and add the frozen butter. Mix the mixture with a pastry cutter until crumbly.
Create a well in the dry ingredients and add the wet ingredients into, mix just until combined.
Add the chocoloate chips and carefully fold into the batter.
Shape the batter into an 8-inch dish and divide into 8 even sized scones. Transfer the scones onto the baking sheet.
Melt the reserved 1 Tbsp butter and with a pastry brush, brush the scones and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
Bake for 16-18, or until the tops are golden.
