How to Cut a Pineapple

Ingredients

  • 1 whole ripe pineapple

Instructions

  • Cut off the crown and base of the pineapple.
  • Stand the pineapple on the base. Cut off the skin going along with the shape of the fruit.
  • Slice the cleaned pineapple in half down the middle, lengthwise.
  • Lay the halves of the pineapple flat on the cutting board and cut in half again and cut the core out at an angle.

Cutting into cubes-

  • Once the core is removed cut the pieces lengthwise one more and then into even sized cubes.

Cutting into slices-

  • When the core is removed, cut the pineapple into even slices.

Cutting into spears-

  • Cut the pineapple into large or thick spears.

Finely chopping-

  • Slice the pineapple into thin strands, then finely chop the strands.

Notes

Storing the pineapple-
  • REFRIGERATOR- Add the cut fruit into an airtight container and store it in the fridge for up to a week.
  • FREEZE- Lay the pineapple pieces onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze. Once frozen, transfer to a freezer bag and freeze for up to 3 months.
