Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 3 Tbsp sour cream
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour measured then sifted
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chip morsels

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9”x5” bread pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar over medium speed until mixture is fluffy.
  • Add mashed bananas, sour cream, oil, and vanilla to the wet ingredients. Stir with a spatula.
  • Add flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and baking powder. Gently mix dry ingredients to incorporate, then mix thoroughly.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into the bread pan and garnish with extra chocolate chips.
  • Bake the bread for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Remove the bread from the oven and cool before slicing.
  • Serve, and enjoy friends!

Notes

  • How to know the bread is done. Use a toothpick to check the center of the bread. Once a toothpick comes out clean, the bread is done!
  • Get perfect slices. Allow the bread to cool for an hour before slicing. This will prevent the slices from falling apart.
  • Storage. Keep leftover bread at room temperature for up to 1-2 days.
  • Freeze. Banana bread slices can be kept in the freezer. Make sure to wrap each slice securely, as it lasts up to 3 months. To thaw, simply place the slices in the refrigerator overnight or let them sit on the counter until they reach room temperature.
