Homemade Tzatziki Sauce Recipe
Tzatziki sauce is a creamy condiment of Mediterranean Greek origins. This sauce is a blend of thick Greek yogurt, crispy cucumbers, and incredibly flavorful fresh herbs. Use as a dip, dressing, or condiment.
- ½ English cucumber grated cucumber partially peeled (striped) (1 1/2 cups squeezed)
- 1 tsp salt divided, or to taste
- ⅛ tsp black pepper or to taste
- 2 cups Greek yogurt
- 5 garlic cloves minced
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1/4 cup freshly chopped dill
- 2 Tbsp olive oil

Grate the cucumber on the large holes of your box grater and toss with 1/2 tsp salt.
Allow the cucumber to sit a few minutes then squeeze out excess water with a cheese cloth or kitchen towel.
In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, dill, oil and season with remaining salt and pepper. Add cucumber and stir to combine.
Chill for one hour in the refrigerator.
Serve, and enjoy friends!
Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 4 days
Servings: The sauce will serve 6-8 as a side sauce.
