In a mixing bowl, combine the beef, oil, garlic, onion, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce just until combined.
Divide the meat into eight equal parts, shape it into balls, and refrigerate.
Add four burger balls onto a heated griddle and smash one at a time using a burger press. For the best crust, smash the patties thin.
Cook for 2-3 minutes, and quickly flip with a spatula.
Cover with a slice of cheese and cook another 1-2 minutes. Remove from grill and cover to keep warm. Repeat with remaining burgers.
To serve: Add sauce to toasted buns, double patties, and desired toppings.
