Candied Walnuts Recipe

This candied walnut recipe makes the most perfect easy snack. Crunchy roasted walnuts coated in the best glaze. This entire recipe comes together in the oven, making for the perfect mess-free snack!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups walnut halves about 10 oz
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg white
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 300°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the butter, egg white, and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, combine salt, cinnamon and sugar; stir to combine.
  • Add walnuts to a large bowl and pour the egg white/butter mixture over the walnuts, toss to combine.
  • Sprinkle the sugar mixture over the walnuts and stir to combine.
  • Spread the coated walnuts in a single layer onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, tossing halfway. Bake until golden brown in color.
  • Remove from the oven. Allow the walnuts to cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • Candied walnuts on the stovetop: 
    Add all of the ingredients to a pan on medium heat and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. 
  • Candied walnuts in the crockpot:
    To your slow cooker, add all of the ingredients and cook on high for about an hour. 
  • Air fryer candied walnuts: 
    Add the walnut coated in sugar to the air fryer basket and bake at 350°F for about 8 minutes, or until the nuts are golden-brown. 
  • Storage. Store these nuts in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature. We recommend storing them in a cool dark place to avoid them getting soggy or stale.
  • Freeze. We don’t recommend freezing these candied walnuts as it would make them soggy.
