Pesto Sauce Recipe
This homemade basil pesto sauce is the perfect quick and easy sauce to make from scratch. Loaded with fresh flavors, this pesto sauce is a flavor explosion and may be used in so many different recipes.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups fresh basil tightly packed
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- ½ tsp salt or to taste
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2 Tbsps lemon juice
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.

- How to use pesto: Pesto can be used in various ways! Use pesto in pasta, pizza sauce, chicken marinade, or as a sandwich spread. The options are endless!
- Refrigerate pesto: Pesto can be kept fresh for up to a week if stored properly. Keep in an airtight container or a jar in the fridge.
- Freeze pesto: Keep pesto fresh longer by freezing! Add the pesto to a ziploc bag and freeze. Frozen pesto can be stored for up to 3 months. Use frozen or thaw in the fridge before use.
