truffle cookies-
These have always been a favorite to bake around the holidays. One batch makes a lot and they stay fresh for a while. If you like walnuts it’s great to chop them up into pieces and add pieces into the middle of the cookie, totally optional though. If you want to keep the walnut ones separate from the rest you can shape the walnut ones into a ball instead of the kisses shape. This way you will know which ones have walnuts and which don’t.
how to make cookies-
- Mix together the butter and flour. The mixture will be lumpy.
- With a fork mix together the egg yolks and sugar. Add to the flour mixture. Mix everything again.
- Shape each cookie into a Hershey’s kisses shape.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F for about 20-25 minutes (or until the cookies are very golden in color).
- For the coating combine the sugar and cocoa in a bowl.
- Once cookies have just about completely cooled coat them with the powdered sugar/cocoa.
