This tomato bisque recipe is the best creamy soup recipe. Roasted tomatoes with vegetables in a creamy broth, this soup is the perfect quick and easy meal for lunch or dinner. Serve with a classic grilled cheese sandwich for the perfect combination!

A bowl of creamy potato soup, drizzled with heavy cream.

This tomato bisque is made with fresh roasted and blended tomatoes, garlic, and vegetables, then blended to create a rich and creamy texture. This soup tastes like hours of effort went into it, but it comes together in less than an hour!

What’s the difference between tomato soup and bisque?

While we love a classic tomato soup, a bisque is often thicker and creamier. While both are great and so flavorful, a tomato soup is a tad healthier, while a bisque is more of a comfort meal.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

This soup is easy to make because it takes little to no hands-on activity! Most of the work is done in the oven to develop an incredible flavor.

Seafood Bisque

We love a tomato bisque but have you tried a creamy shrimp bisque? A rich tomato broth, loaded with juicy shrimp, this bisque is hearty and so flavorful!

You can blend the ingredients using a blender or hand-held immersion blender.

Here are our favorite ways to switch up the soup!

Store & Reheat

  • Storage. Store the leftover soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
  • Reheat. Warm up the soup in a pot over low-medium heat until reheated.
  • Freeze. The best way to store soup for longer is in the freezer! Add cooled tomato bisque into a freezer-safe container and store in the freezer for up to 3 months. Reheat: Add the frozen soup to a pot and warm up over low-medium heat. The frozen block of soup will begin to melt and then thicken up. Add a touch of chicken broth to thin out the soup.
