How to Make Hamburger Soup:

Step-by-step recipe for the best hamburger soup on the stove top –

  1. Brown the ground beef and onion in a dutch oven or a large pot until the meat is cooked through.

2. Add the diced tomatoes with juices and garlic. Stir to combine.

3. Simmer the tomato ground beef mixture for about a minute.

4. Add the remaining ingredients minus the frozen vegetables, and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes.

5. Add the frozen vegetables to the pot.

6. Cook the soup over medium heat for about 20 minutes and until the potatoes are fork-tender.

Crockpot Hamburger Soup

Make this easy soup in the crock pot:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 large potatoes diced small
  • 32 oz beef broth
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes 14.5 ounces each
  • 2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp salt divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 bag frozen mixed vegetables 16 ounces

Instructions

  • In a dutch oven, or pot, brown the ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until the meat is cooked through. Season with 1 tsp salt.
  • Add the diced tomatoes with juices, garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  • Add the remaining ingredients minus for the frozen vegetables, and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the potatoes are semi-tender.
  • Add the frozen vegetables and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes and until the potatoes are fork tender.
  • Serve immediately.
