Cooked ground beef in the most delicious homemade seasoning over a bed of white rice and topped with buttered corn, avocado, tomatoes with sour cream and cheese. If you like your food spicy, some hot sauce or Sriracha would go well with this bowl.
If you ever had leftover rice, don’t throw it away, enjoy this taco bowl the following day. Just reheat the rice and you have yourself a really good lunch or dinner!
how to make a taco bowl-
RICE- Cook the rice using whatever method you like best. We like to bake our rice, the best method for cooking rice.
MEAT- While the rice is cooking. Cook the meat using our recipe Taco Meat Recipe.
VEGETABLES- Finely slice the onion. Cube the tomatoes. Slice or cube the avocado. TIP: The corn can be served cold OR for best results saute it with a dab of butter and season with Vegeta if you have it, SO GOOD!
BOWL- You can totally personalize the bowl to whatever you like but this happens to be my favorite way to serve it and my favorite ingredients.
Add the warm rice to a bowl and drizzle with lime or lemon juice. Top with the warm meat. Then add all your favorite helpings, I like to add corn, tomato, avocado, cheese and sour cream with hot sauce or Sriracha. Drizzle lime or lemon juice over everything.
BUFFET STYLE- This recipe is great to serve buffet-style at the table. Add all of the helpings to individual bowls and allow your family to personalize their bowl. Yes, it will be a bit of a mess but so ENJOYABLE!
can I prepare everything in advance?
Though this recipe is SUPER easy, you still need to saute the meat and cook the rice. If you like to have food prepped before the kids come home from school and just reheat before dinner, do so. Bake the rice and cook the meat ahead of time, keep refrigerated. Then, before dinner, while the rice and meat is reheated, just chop the veggies and dinner is ready to be served.
This taco bowl recipe is the perfect idea to switch things up a bit for Taco Tuesday;). You can even serve the bowl with some toasted tortillas on the side.

Simple Taco Bowl Recipe
- 1 recipe taco meat
- 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tbsp cilantro, or to taste
- 1 cup corn
- 1 Tbsp butter, optional (to saute corn)
- 1 avocado, sliced or quartered
- 1/4 red onion, sliced
- 1 cup tomatoes, cubed
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- hot sauce or Sriracha, optional
- 1 lime
- Prepare taco meat recipe.
- Cook white rice. Drain and drizzle with lime (or lemon) juice.
- In a skillet, saute corn with 1 Tbsp butter (or leave the corn cold).
- Prepare all the desired toppings. Slice the onions, cut avocados and cube the tomatoes.
- In a bowl, arrange all the ingredients for this simple taco bowl.
