Whenever I see “chicken alfredo” in a recipe title, I know it will be good! Though we love a simple chicken alfredo fettuccine, this roll-up recipe takes this flavor to a new level with a fun and unique variation. Unlike traditional lasagna layering in classic marinara, this recipe consists of lasagna rolls similar to our alfredo chicken stuffed shells that are rolled up.
Chicken Alfredo Lasagna on Repeat
This recipe is the easiest and most delicious chicken lasagna with white sauce. It uses simple ingredients, and the flavors are so comforting! Not to mention, it reheats well, making it great for leftovers. The entire family will ask for the casserole on repeat.
Ingredients for Chicken Alfredo Lasagna
- Lasagna noodles – uncooked lasagna noodles are perfect for this recipe.
Substitute: Oven-ready lasagna noodles can be easily used! These don’t need to be boiled and are ready to go; you just won’t be able to roll them up.
- Chicken – ground chicken is the perfect protein.
Substitute: Use leftover chicken like cooked shredded chicken breast or any leftover cooked chicken and just finely chop or shred. Or, even store-bought rotisserie chicken may be used.
- Fresh herbs – fresh cilantro is perfect for this recipe, but you can also use fresh parsley or a combination.
- Cheese – a combination of ricotta and shredded mozzarella is perfect for this recipe.
- Alfredo sauce – our easy homemade alfredo sauce made with heavy cream makes the perfect topping.
Substitute: You can also make this lasagna with jar sauce for an even easier recipe. Use your favorite store-bought jarred alfredo sauce.

- Add veggies: Bulk up this dish with vegetables added! Chicken Alfredo lasagna is a classic dish often made with spinach! Our recipe makes chicken Alfredo without spinach to make it kid-friendly, but you can easily add a cup of chopped spinach to the filling and make spinach Alfredo roll-ups. Sauteed mushrooms, zucchini, and steamed broccoli florets may also be used.
- Get creative with the cheese: Ricotta and mozzarella are the perfect combination, but you can also use parmesan or your favorite blend of cheeses.
How to Make Chicken Alfredo Lasagna
The best step-by-step recipe:

- Cook ground chicken in a large pan, breaking up into small pieces.

2. Once the chicken is cooked, cool and mix with cilantro, ricotta, mozzarella, salt, and pepper.

3. Prepare one batch of homemade alfredo sauce, or use a jar of alfredo sauce!

4. Lay out one cooked lasagna noodle and add a spoonful of the chicken mixture and roll up tightly. Add the roll to a casserole dish, seem side down. Repeat with the rest of the noodles and meat mixture.

5. Top the roll-ups with the alfredo sauce.

6. Top with mozzarella cheese and cover with aluminum foil. Bake in the oven at 375°F for 25-30 minutes. Uncover the baking dish and bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Garnish with fresh herbs and enjoy!

Alfredo sauce is often referred to as white sauce in pasta and pizza!
Our recipe uses mozzarella and ricotta, but you can also add parmesan cheese.
If you want to add extra ricotta to this recipe, you sure can! Mozzarella gives this dish a creamy cheese pull and the perfect topping.
Store & Reheat
- Storage. Add leftovers to an airtight container and store for 3-5 days in the fridge.
- Reheat. Leftovers reheat super well! You can reheat the lasagna roll ups in the microwave or warm up in a pan on medium heat until the cheese is melted and the center is warmed through.

Alfredo Chicken Lasagna Roll Ups
Ingredients
- 1 package lasagna noodles
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 3 Tbsp chopped cilantro or parsley
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese divided
- 1 tsp salt divided
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper divided
- 1 recipe alfredo sauce or one 15 oz jar
Instructions
- Cook lasagna noodles according to to package instructions with 1 tsp salt. Rinse the cooked noodles in cold water. Cover and set aside.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 Tbsp of oil and saute the ground chicken, breaking it up into smaller pieces. Season with ½ tsp salt and ¼ tsp pepper. Once fully cooked, set aside to cool.
- In a large bowl, combine chicken, cilantro, ricotta cheese, ½ cup mozzarella cheese, salt, and pepper.
- Prepare a portion of our homemade alfredo sauce.
- Tightly roll the lasagna noodles and add to a 9×13 casserole dish, seam side down.
- Repeat with remaining meat and pasta noodles.
- Pour the alfredo sauce over the roll-ups and top with the remaining shredded cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Uncover and bake until the cheese is melted.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve!
