It is safe to save we love open-faced sandwiches, canapes, or byterbrodi in our good old Uki talk. That is why I love a good ham mushroom cheese open-faced sandwich. I am not sure about you, but when I have lunch it’s not always fancy, or better yet, it’s barely ever fancy. Though stay-at-home moms have more time than working moms, the last thing on my mind is to spend an hour in the kitchen preparing lunch. The kiddos and I usually finish leftovers from the night before or have a quick sandwich. My kids very strongly dislike school lunch, so I pack every day for them. Therefore, there is always lunch meat in the fridge.

Cold sandwiches do get tiring at times and I just love having warm sandwiches. I always like to throw together whatever lunch meat I have, add cheese or whatever else is on hand and toast it, it’s oh so good. If you have been following me, you will notice a love of mushrooms on my end, it’s terrible. I manage to stick them in whenever they can be added.

How to make Ham Mushroom Cheese Open Faced Sandwiches.

  • Slice mushrooms and tomatoes. Chop ham.
  • In a skillet, cook mushrooms until golden. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a bowl, combine Ranch dressing, blue cheese, mayo, cream cheese, and lightly salt and pepper.
  • Slice French bread.
  • Top bread pieces with the ham mixture.
  • Bake in preheated oven to 355°F for about 10-12 minutes.
  • Serve.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ham, deli meat
  • 1/2 cup sliced cherry tomatoes
  • 12 oz mushrooms
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1 cup Mexican four cheese
  • 3 Tbsp Ranch dressing
  • 2 -3 tsp crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 Tbsp mayo
  • 2 oz cream cheese, room temp
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 french bread

Instructions

  • Clean and slice mushrooms. Add to pan and fry until pan is dry. Lightly salt, pepper and cook another three minutes or until mushrooms are cooked and golden. Set aside to cool.
  • Chop ham.
  • Slice tomatoes.
  • In a bowl combine ranch, blue cheese, mayo, cream cheese, and lightly salt and pepper.
  • In a bowl combine all the ingredients.
  • Slice French bread.
  • Put the ingredients onto the bread.
  • Bake in preheated oven to 355°F for about 10-12 minutes.
  • Serve. 

Notes

If you only use half the mixture. Just refrigerate the rest and it can be used the following day.
