How to make Crispy Chicken sandwich-

This buttermilk chicken sandwich is so easy to make. The prep time and cook time is under 30 minutes (minus the marinating time).

  • PREPARE CHICKEN: Cut the chicken breast into two. If you prefer a thick chicken sandwich, cut it in half so the cutlets are the same size as the bun. If you prefer the chicken thin, slice the chicken breast in half lengthwise. Once cut,  with a mallet beat chicken until even in thickness.
  • MARINADE: Combine the ingredients for the marinade. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade. Set aside to marinate 30 minutes or overnight.

  • BREADING: In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients for a seasoned breading. Take chicken from the marinade and allow any excess marinade to drip off. Dredge the chicken generously in the breading so all sides are covered.
  • FRY CHICKEN: Heat oil (enough to completely cover the chicken when submerged). Once oil is about 350°F (yes, measure with a heat thermometer), add the chicken and cook 3-4 minutes per side or until the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165°F. Add chicken to a platter lined with a few paper towels for the grease to drain. TIP: If frying in batches, keep cooked chicken warm in a preheated oven.
