This delicious butter garlic sauce is so easy to make and only takes 5 simple ingredients! Melted butter combined with garlic, fresh herbs, salt, and pepper combined to a homemade butter sauce. We love this sauce on pasta, chicken breast, shrimp, and on homemade bread.

INGREDIENTS-

  • Butter– You want to use a good quality brand, we used unsalted butter. If you want to use salted butter, skip adding salt.
  • Garlic– Freshly minced garlic cloves is BEST for the ultimate flavors.
  • Herbs– Your favorite fresh herbs will work ! We love using parsley, cilantro, and dill. You can either mix it up or use just one herb.
  • Salt– We like to add salt to enhance the flavors, add to taste.
  • Pepper– Season with black pepper to taste for a kick in the sauce.

HOW TO MAKE GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE-

This recipe is SO EASY and will become your go-to sauce recipe!

  1. Combine together room temp butter, garlic, chopped herbs, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. In a skillet or small saucepan, melt the butter mixture on low until fully melted.
  3. Remove from heat and use as desired.

How to reheat the sauce?

To reheat, just melt in the microwave or over the stove top on low until melted.

Can I use dried herbs?

Yes, although this garlic butter sauce is BEST with freshly chopped herbs you can also use dried herbs. For dried herbs the ration is 1 Tbsp fresh herbs = 1 tsp dried herbs.

Can jarred minced garlic be used for this sauce?

For the BEST results, you want to use freshly minced garlic, but you can use jarred minced garlic. 1 clove of garlic = ¼ tsp garlic powder.

Can I make this a lemon garlic butter sauce?

Yes, just add 1-2 Tbsps of lemon juice for a lemon garlic butter sauce, we love using this for our Lemon Chicken Recipe!
