Buffalo Chicken Dip is a classic appetizer for parties. It tastes just like buffalo chicken wings but served as a dip.  The cheesy and creamy chicken dip can either be baked in the oven or made in a slow cooker.

The classic dip typically includes cream cheese, shredded cheddar, Ranch dressing, cooked chicken, and Franks Hot sauce. I like to add my personal touch with Greek yogurt and bleu cheese (which is the secret ingredient to the most amazing chicken dip). The yogurt adds creaminess to the buffalo dip and the bleu cheese gives it an unexpected kick of flavor!

  • Be sure your cream cheese is softened and at room temperature so it beats and isn’t lumpy and will melt during the baking.
  • Use a block of cheese and grate, the cheese performs better, optional.
  • The dip can be prepared ahead of time, even the night before. Keep dip covered and refrigerated. Add 5 minutes baking time since dip will be cold if made ahead of time.
  • Crumble chicken with a mixer before adding remaining ingredients.
  • Beat all of the ingredients together with a mixer it will ensure even creaminess and flavors.

  • 12 oz cream cheese (1 1/2 pkgs), room temp.
  • 2/3 cup Red Hot sauce
  • 2/3 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 1/2 cups mild cheddar cheese
  • 2 cans cooked chicken breasts (12 oz), drained


  • Preheat oven to 355°F.
  • Combine all the ingredients with a mixer. Transfer to a baking dish.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes or until heated thoroughly and dip is bubbling.
  • ENJOY!

    We love this recipe!!! It’s delicious ? I left out the blue cheese and instead of greek yogurt I used sour cream ! I will make this recipe again and again that’s how much we like it ! Highly recommend it 🙂 thank you Valentina

      Hi, Irene! If you are leaving it out because you don’t like the taste of bleu cheese, add it you would never know it’s in there but it gives it a unique flavor!
      If you are leaving it out because you don’t have it and don’t want to go shopping, leave it out, it will not make that big of a difference. 🙂 <3 You're in for a treat!
