Ingredients for the Buffalo Chicken Dip

The ingredients for this Buffalo Chicken Dip are very simple an you most likely already have them in your kitchen.

  • Canned chicken breast – drained canned chicken breast is a quick way to get shredded chicken, we also love it in our chicken quesadilla recipe.
  • Cream cheese – softened at room temperature.
  • Frank’s red hot buffalo sauce – the key component for that remarkable buffalo flavor and the same sauce we use in our buffalo chicken sliders
  • Blue cheese – crumbled blue cheese adds a special flavor to the dip.
  • Greek yogurt – plain Greek yogurt, adds extra creaminess to the dip, as well as some protein!
  • Ranch – the ranch dressing adds great flavor to the dip and makes it creamier.
  • Mild cheddar cheese – this shredded cheese adds a beautiful golden color to the dip and melts wonderfully. You can use shredded cheese, or shred a block of cheese by hand.

Substitutions and Variations

Here are some add-ins, substitutions, and different variations you make to the chicken dip.

  • Chicken: If you want to replace the canned chicken, you can use rotisserie chicken, or make some shredded chicken breast
  • Cheese: If you want to swap out the mild cheddar for a different cheese, we recommend sharp cheddar cheese, Monterey jack, or mozzarella as a substitute. You can also add a variety of cheeses for a different flavor.
  • Greek Yogurt: If you can’t, or don’t want to use Greek yogurt, you can omit it, but add more ranch as a substitute.
